Shuttleworth Weaving
Shuttleworth Weavers are a small group of spinners, dyers and weavers based in KwaZulu-Natal. We live and work together on a mountainside surrounded by natural bush.
We make carpets, throws and scarves, mostly in mohair. Each piece is carefully and individually made.
Mohair, fleece of the angora goat, is grown in the arid Karoo region of South Africa. It is known for its durability and for its lightness, warmth and lustre.
